A taste of the Scottish Summer Highlander RC, March 23, 2024March 23, 2024 And yes, I am being sarcastic. The weather sucked today. It’s typical. We’ve all done it. Made plans for the weekend and the weather ruins it. It’s kind of a given here in the Highlands. The forecast changes by the minute. And when we joke about all four seasons in one day, that actually happens. We had three seasons today. Can’t crawl without coffee Today started the same way every weekend does with a quick jaunt over to Cabin Coffee at Dalraddy Caravan Park. Thankfully (for us at least,) it wasn’t very busy this morning. As always, the coffee was amazing and went down a treat. I’d highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area. And, with that, we headed back to our “new” spot, for a rather minging morning crawl… Moray RC Cars Today, Gav from Moray RC Cars made the trek down to ourselves. Feel free to check out his Instagram page below, and don’t forget to give him a follow. He’s a top bloke. I had the privilege of meeting him many moons ago when we both use to play paintball at our local site, Tazball Paintball. https://www.instagram.com/moray_rc_cars/ Unfortunately this time the weather followed him. The day started off reasonably nice. Not very warm, with a bit of a breeze, but it was dry. That was of course until we decided to head out. From then on out, it would be a mixed bag for the next few hours. And by mixed bag, I mean pissing rain and rain, with the odd spot of sunshine. Due to the constantly changing weather, we didn’t get much of a chance to take many photos today, which sucks. I’m going to attempt to see how this gallery feature works, so please bare with me if it goes to shit. You will find that a little bit further down the page. Spot the odd one out… As you will see from the image above, my Hi-Rock was missing it’s doppelganger today. Everyone else had a twin. From left to right we have the Traxxas TRX-4 1979 Bronco, Axial SCX10 Jeep Gladiator, FTX Hi-Rock, FTX Gladius and the Traxxas TRX-4 Bronco. So yeah, two Bronco’s, two Jeep’s and a knock off Hi-lux! I’m not gonna lie, it did make for some nice “family” photos, which you will hopefully find below… Due to the weather being crap, and most of us soaked through, we only managed a couple of hours at this spot, before we decided to call it quits. It’s the wrong time of the year to be running around the hills with inadequate clothing, especially when it’s cold and wet. Trailing at Loch Insh Soooo, being the kinda folk that we are, about an hour after everyone else had headed home, we decided to go back out and have a look at another spot just around the corner from us. Nothing to taxing on the rigs, just a nice, slow casual plod around the eastern edge of Loch Insh, with a little bit of swimming. It was actually quite funny watching the Bronco bob up and down in the rougher than usual waters. How it didn’t float away is beyond me. We didn’t take much in the way of photos. When I just about caved my head in on a low hanging branch, that was the icing on the cake. I can still feel it now… Done & dusted… And with that, hopefully the gallery below will work. I’m sorry this isn’t up to the usual standard or length. I may have to go and take some painkillers as my head is banging. No one to blame but myself and shocking situational awareness. If I could have snapped that tree in half, I would have done… Post Views: 46 Days out Friends of Highlander RC
Today was truly shocking weather wise but still an epic place to crawl. Cant wait for better weather and spend 3-4 dry hours up there playing around the place. Reply
Sorry for the late reply dude. Yeah, the weather really ruined it. Suppose we should know better at this time of the year! Reply
